Born in New York City, Philip Winter has worked in costume for over a decade with professional experience spanning traditional workrooms, major costume houses, and on-set productions for stage and screen. He began his career at the age of 14 as a tailor on Broadway, developing a rigorous technical foundation in bespoke construction, alterations, and historically informed dress. He later relocated to London to pursue a career in film and now works internationally. His practice moves between large-scale film and television productions, theatre, and museum-level costume work, combining precise craftsmanship with research-driven design. Operating through his limited company, Philip maintains costume studio bases in both Camden, London and Tribeca, New York City.
